Samsung CX305T

Samsung just presented in Korea the CX305T, their latest “large” screen. For the cherry on top, the gorgeous HYH is showing the screen. So, we’ve got a 30” screen with a 2560x1600 resolution, a 1000:1 ratio for contrast, a 400cd/m2 brightness, and a 6ms response time, in a nice design. Of course, all this screen space has a price, and you'll have to shell out about 1,267.00 euros to get this monitor.

Ubiko

UBIX, a Japanese company, offers a new robot named Ubiko. Its purpose is to replace humans for such tasks as welcoming clients, promote products on site, etc. This autonomous robot is controlled by voice and is able to quickly respond with its very annoying synthesized voice (got to the Ubiko website, you’ll understand what I mean). Heck, a few stores in the Shizuoka prefecture will even have an Ubiko in their staff.Don’t worry, you won’t be replaced anytime soon by an Ubiko… At a 700.00 euros for 2 hours rental price, you still have plenty of work time ahead of you!

The Macro PC

The Epson Endeavor ST100 is a PC available in BTO measuring only 75x185x195mm and weighing 2.3kg. It can receive for example a 2.33GHz Core 2 Duo T6700, an ATI Radeon Xpress 200M, 2GB of RAM, a 160GB 5400rpm SATA hard disk, and a DL DVD burner, for a price of 1,590.00 euros

LCD screens for mobile products

Seoul, Nov 21 2006 (Korea Newswire)-- Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., the world’s largest provider of thin-film transistor, liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) panels announced today that it has developed the thinnest reported LCD panel, one no thicker than a credit card at 0.82mm, which is 0.07mm thinner than the panel previously reported to be the world’s slimmest. The company also announced that it has developed a new mobile technology, which it is calling, “i-Lens”, for integrating the entire panel assembly, including a protective layer, into a single, thinner module that is more shock-resistant and easier to read than conventional panels.Executive Vice President Yun Jin-hyuk, in charge of the Mobile Display Team within the Samsung Electronics LCD Business division, said,” Samsung’s R&D initiatives, including LCD module thickness reduction and reinforced shock resistance, will enable our customers to develop truly differentiated and more reliable, ultra-thin mobile products.”To achieve the slimmer package size, Samsung’s Mobile Display Team redesigned the light guide plate subassembly and the glass substrate, which accounted for most of the LCD module’s thickness.Samsung has further contributed to the trend toward slimmer phones with its new i-Lens technology. The result is a thinner, highly integrated LCD module that protects the mobile phone’s main display better than previous designs, making it more resistant to damage from shock and vibration. In deploying Samsung’s i-Lens technology, manufacturers can trim 1.4 to 2.4mm from the thickness of a mobile phone.Today, a typical mobile phone screen leaves a 2 to 3mm space above the panel before attaching a reinforced plastic sheet to protect the LCD module. In Samsung’s new i-Lens process, a shock-resistant protective sheet is fastened directly to the LCD module, thereby eliminating the space between it and the panel surface. With i-Lens, the thickness of the LCD module is reduced to a mere 0.82mm, while resolving the sunlight reflection problem inherent in the use of reinforced plastic. As a result, the panel is much easier to view outdoors. The new LCD screen is available in 2.1 inch-diagonal and 2.2-inch-diagonal screen sizes. It features qVGA (240 x 320 pixels) resolution, 300nit brightness and a 500:1 contrast ratio. Mass production is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2007.

LISA

At 4.15pm while parked waiting for Margie to finish shopping at Save on Foods in the open parking area, i was approached by Lisa. She was desperate for 17.50 cdn for hostel lodgeing. She was there with a female friend and her 8 year old daughter. Lisa eye pupils were as big as saucers and she was clasping her arms and showing a scary face of teeth and grimmice. ( i have seen the scourge of the 1965 Heroine addictions in Vancouver to the current Meth epidemic.) So this does not come as an unknown conditon to me..
Lisa, i think you need couseling " what me " yes perhaps at Willingdon Menonite Community Church, one of the best organized facility for a few young single mothers to renew their life.
A man came by in a car and said you owe me 30, who is he, he has been following me. Well small change is not going to assist your life. How had you gotten along with your parents ? " my mother is a drug user and i moved in with my daughters father after the pregnancy at age 16.. I left him last year for the physical abuse.
.Now my moral delima "as flawed as it is" : In the past while in Sanjose i have given hundres to Five Wounds Church to Father Leonel Noir who aids the sick with HIV and feeds the hungery that come to the door of his refrectory. In seattle Near first st. money is again given to the homeless people, with not knowing what the outcome will be. Am i just dumb ? Well i can build advanced communication systems for Police and fire to aid all citizens of crimes major and conspiratorial to the Government of the land.
But for young people that are addicted to drugs and alchol, abused sexually and beaten I am still at a moral loss as to the right and reason of it. Is a health society measured by the number of human derelicts we have per capita ? Are these manipulated people dumb and stupid beond our protection of developed society?
Or is a mass calamiy dare shame us into common sense. True self abuse and illness are the demise of any individual. So the moral delema was not that i was being conned, or alowing myself to be conned, or conning myself into thinking that I was being helpful. It was just being under the beam of sunlight that said right or reason, ( or no reason ) I will give . 20 cdn . Lisa was not that thankful, I had to reach out my hand for a finger touch, as i said i don't think i am going to meet you again. She reached out and gave me a full handshake. ( The game gambit accepted) life goes on, what harship or good fortune will come our way tomorrow

Why have thou forsaken us ?
In the fact that my nephew 's great grandfather discovered thee.

and there you were
but not big enough to balance the solar system
where are the other bits?
and so, looking long and with patience
along comes ZENA
OH no that can not be Scientests say

Low Power and Energy-Efficient CPUs from Intel and AMD

Review by MS, August 20, 2006)
http://www.lostcircuits.com/cpu/low_e/14.shtml
Final Words
Since its launch - or even earlier than that - the Core2 Duo processors have been hailed to be the non-surplussed leaders in CPU performance. As the claim to fame usually goes, the glory rubs off on every single member of the family, so that by the end of the day it really doesn't matter whether it is an E6700 or an X6800 or maybe just an E6300. All of them deliver spectacular performance not only with respect to the instructions per clock cycle but also in terms of instructions per Watt. At least that's the storyline.
At the same time, AMD is back to some sort of wall flower existence, since only being Number One is what attracts the spotlights. However, the reality is a bit more convoluted; starting with the Venice core, AMD has delivered outstanding performance per Watt. With the introduction of the Dual Core Athlon 64's, the focus has shifted once again towards performance rather than efficiency but there was no doubt that at least the potential for the next big thing in power savings was there. Along with that necessarily goes the issue of thermal management of CPUs.
One thing that is quite amazing about the Core2 Duo / Extreme is its performance scaling with clock speed. The higher the clock is pushed, the better it'll perform. Keep in mind, though that every coin does have two sides, in other words, what goes around, comes around and by extension, that means a significant performance gap between the lower and the higher speed grades. Compared to the P4, this still positions even the Core2 Duo E6300 as Intel's sexiest silicon since implants but on the other hand, some claims about even the lowest Core2 Duo outperforming the fastest AMD processors more or less belong into the realm of urban legends.
When it comes to performance per W, one thing is absolute sure, the "ADD" series sets completely new standards. Granted that the overall performance is lower than that of AMD's high end CPUs but there is still enough horsepower for about anything and in terms of energy-efficiency they are nothing short of breathtaking.
Pricing is currently in a complete turmoil with both AMD and Intel chasing each other's tail and it is almost impossible to factor it in other than for a snapshot but at least at the low end, anything other than approximate price parity would be difficult to argue. By the end of the day, the E6300 was a bit of a disappointment, primarily in comparison to the higher speed grades' performance and also based on the power consumption but we still have to give it the benefit of the doubt for the simple reason that what we have is a preproduction sample and that the "real" thing may be more energy-efficient.
The "ADD" X2-3800+ does not get any benefit of the doubt when it comes to energy-efficiency, but fankly, it doesn't need any of this anyway. As it stands, both energy-efficient processor lines are setting new standards but despite its nominally lower performance, the "ADD" X2-3800+ is the better processor in the bunch.
